Obviously true. No one is saying Germany would've gone much further. Still, I think VAR is there to make things feel more technically sound, and I'm not sure it accomplished that.

I mean in this case VAR did make the game more technically sound in that it found the ball marginally in play and so let a lovely and also funny goal stand :shrug:
