Batman But Evil Somehow, a version of Batman that is totally him but through a dark mirror. Maybe he went to a slam poetry session with his wealthy parents before going into murder cul-de-sac. Batman But Evil Somehow has no superpowers or special abilities other than an improbable capacity for chessmaster planning, seemingly infinite resources, and being completely unknown to anyone despite having some ironic historical parallel to a young Bruce Wayne. To accomplish his goals he has created an elaborate plan which perfectly undermines and defeats every tool that the bat-family has at their disposal, in preparation for years. Batman But Evil Somehow has some really cool outfit that is much more hardcore and badass than Batman's, you guys. He's a master manipulator who totally has all the other villains aiding in his plan, without their knowledge even! The climax of the plan included a famous, striking image of a bat-thing being broken, and some commentary that undermines something about the idea that Batman is good, because there can also be a Batman that is Evil Somehow. After the revelation and culmination of his horrible and perfect plan which the bat-family was completely unprepared for and which didn't kill Batman, Batman But Evil Somehow develops crippling passivity and Batman defeated him in a way that reflected how they were actually very different, probably the power of friendship. Batman But Evil Somehow died two years later at the hands of a new supervillain or maybe an aesthetically more hardcore Joker, letting all of Gotham recognize how gritty and serious the new villain/writer's take on Joker was. He lives on in a cycle of death and rebirth in alternate universe titles and DTV film. He is survived by his big brother, Superman But Evil Somehow And Written By An Irreverent Brit.
