Well dang, I was hoping we'd get some nuclear level mad out of folks, but on the other hand we haven't played K State before so that could be interesting.

My VP at work is a TCU grad and was hired in mid 2020, adding to the suddenly growing religious vibes (a new CEO in mid '19 helped too) of an otherwise very secular organization. Would never be caught with ~~marijuana~~ or other drugs but wine, oh man the wine.

TCU is where you wind up if your daddy owns oil wells or thousands of acres of ranch land, but not enough of either to buy your way into the Ivy League or Texas. It’s more like SMU than it likes to admit.

If SMU is a new Mercedes because Buffy rammed her Maserati into a telephone pole after a long night of doing coke in Deep Ellum, TCU is a new Platinum F-150 because Mason IV wrecked the Raptor trying to take a mudhole a little too fast back on the ranch.

Is it a particularly good school? It’s okay. Is the name enough to make the shareholders not cringe when you inherit daddy’s assets in the will? That’s what it’s there for.

If you take for granted the fact that the G5 is de facto ineligible for playoff consideration barring extraordinary circumstance, the committee has really never made an indefensible pick. The most dubious was probably Ohio State over Baylor and TCU that first year, but Ohio State did have 12 wins to their 11 and did go on to win the thing, so it’s hard to ding them too much for that.

Baylor is also lowkey pretty secular for a school that brands as a Baptist university, at least for my taste.

It is also just a backup school for people who do not get into Texas or A&M, just from different parts of the state, but it definitely earns its reputation.

I wouldn't expect Bijan to play, but Roschon is such a devoted gamer that I wouldn't be surprised to see him suit up for a meaningless Alamo Bowl. He could also boost his ... UDFA stock with a big performance as the starter.

But if neither of them do, it'll be fun to see Keilan Robinson and Jonathan Brooks in featured roles. They both have looked good when they got touches.

Yeah, they have, and a few weeks off should help. If Ewers plays a little better, they should be fine on offense.

Nissin Cup Nudist posted:

They are truthfully going to play for Deion, and the history of the school isn’t hugely important. It is a big enough name with enough history that someone will eventually make it work (as long as the administration is no longer actively sabotaging the program).

One of the former Bama players was all sour grapes because UGA won a "fake natty" last year, its funny how every time the chips dont fall where the alabama players/fans want, its all excuses and goal post moving.
