It's everyone for themselves and a mortgage holder is going to cast a renter into the void if it means saving their own skin and vice versa. Salaries for particular groups that are already buffered against rate rises have also gone up a lot more than the national figure. So you have people with high incomes that have increased 10+%, lots of savings and property equity not moderating at all while the poorest eat the poo poo sandwich on their behalf.
