Some crazy old rich dude who was legit addicted to McDonalds IRL had a heart attack and a triple bypass surgery and poo poo in the 80s and then took it upon himself to campaign against the horrors of fast food and now McDonalds fries are fried in vegetable oil. so like everything else, a singular rich dude hosed it up for everyone

They can never bring beef tallow’d fries back as vegans would be very loudly opposed to it. Besides that I’m sure the veg oil is cheaper and an entire generation has been raised without the good stuff so it’s gone forever

I eat McD's once or twice a year and typically get a small order of fries. Every single time I can't help reminisce about how much better the fries tasted when I was a kid. I literally whined to my mom when they changed "Hey, they didn't cook the fries right." She explained the change, and then agreed that she didn't like it either.
