buddy of mine worked at a research fusion reactor for a year or so. he said that particular design would never work because even if they could get more energy out than they put in, there were all kinds of little motors and pistons and poo poo that were constantly getting hosed up by the reaction so they'd constantly have to be replacing them. we're still doomed
