Video game violence is fuckin rad and the foundation of the fun pyramid. Like add ingredients for sure based on the kind of game you’re driving for, but at the end of the day there’s nothing more satisfying in games than killing pixels. I always lol when you see those try hard thinkpieces bemoaning violence as mechanics, it’s always some navel gazing horseshit like “can fEeLiNgS bE mEChAnIcS?”. Like why though? It’s the most satisfying way to get the happy chemicals flowing. The history of mankind is war and conflict and bloodshed and we can indulge those baser urges now in a way that harms nobody. What a time to be alive. TLDR I love video game violence it is the best, the more blood and over the top the better and if killing the bad guys rewards you with a qt 3.14 NPC then that’s even better; basic story telling 101; the protagonist defeats the antagonist, saving the world (or their little corner of it) and getting the hot person and/or briefcase of money at the end. Not hard.
