when i was little i loved watching john stossel on 20/20.. he was all like, "give me a break" and i was like 'hell yeah'. i've totally forgotten what the segments were about but just liked how he said it. didn't find out until like 10 years later that he was just this huge libertarian that hated the government giving help to people because once "you give it to them you can't take it back" and apparently that's what segments he was running the whole time on 20/20 anyways my point is, even though i watched him in my childhood. i still turned out to not want to actively harm other people just because the government was using tax money to help them. so that guy posting a stossel vod non-ironically: seek help. you are not as nice as you think you are.

When I was a child I also thought Mike Savage and John Stossel made a lot of sense. That’s because I was a child and it’s a child’s brain, so imagine an adult who likes them.

I was a teen watching Dateline and 20/20 because they had interesting stories and news and Stossel's persona being a straight talkering no nonsense iconoclast was fun to an angsty smartass kid. But like Sauce I eventually figured out he was a turd and wonder what the gently caress I was watching him spew out every week. Somehow (thanks to church or media or family or just plain stupid) I was a 9th grader that thought abortion should be very restricted. My H-Bio teacher assigned an EC question on a quiz about abortion access and I wrote out something about should be rare, shouldn't be a replacement for BC blah blah. He responded with something like "What about exceptions for assault, health of the mother, etc?" Literally read it and went 'oh gently caress I'm loving wrong holy poo poo' Dude still have me credit for answering the freebie but I honestly looked at it like 'i don't deserve these 5 points I'm a loving moron '

I accidentally won a state wide essay contest for Right To Life when I was a freshman in high school because my theology teacher (nun) submitted a homework assignment about abortion to this secular contest on my behalf. I got $500 which I spent on a dream cast and games. That was cool. The actual event was loving weird. Ben Stein was there. Those haven't been my views in years/decades and I don't know if I actually had opinions back then but I feel strange/sorta kinda guilty when I think about it.

Anyone who uses the term “job creator” without any hint of irony has to be assumed brain dead and there’s no hope for them. Also sorry but I can’t get my dick hard to vote for Dems anymore. They have failed miserably to enact meaningful reform to get us anywhere close to every other first world country. The last time they tried with healthcare, they literally let the industry write the bill even though they had a supermajority and could have passed anything they wanted to up to including single payer. Their student loan plan basically puts the owed debt back at current levels in two years, and even that might get yeeted right out in court. Should have taken out 5 or 6 figures in PPP loans, kids. Those are free. They lost the presidency to a fuckin C-list game show host because they stubbornly refused to have anyone but their hand selected turd woman on the throne. Yet after all that , it’s the same as it’s always been: “No we aren’t going to do anything to tangibly, materially improve your life or economic mobility in any real way, nothing to reverse almost a half century of watering down the middle and working classes, but we will say some nice things about oppressed groups for you (without any accompanying actions) and besides, tHe SuPrEmE cOuRt aNd rOe iS aT sTaKe! Then they lost that because nobody in the party had enough guts to give RBG the LBJ treatment and voluntell her old frail rear end to retire PDQ. And yet, this is going to once again be tHe MoST iMpOrTaNt eLeCtIoN iN oUr LiFeTiMe because, uh, reasons. As long as both parties have the same goddamned donor base, it’s grim.

" I'm not even really joking, look into community College, bust out an AS in something there's a market for with a low-ish skill ceiling, and start over. Yeah it sucks and you'll be busy as hell but community College can be pretty cheap, and you can always try to get a degree that transfers to 4 year. (USER WAS PUT ON PROBATION FOR THIS POST)
