Outside of that (and with a wait) you're probably best off trying a supermarket, Asda, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Waitrose but there'd be a delay on delivery because it's just a regular-rear end shop delivery.

Looks like Deliveroo is not in their area, but they do have a Tesco a mile or so from the house, so I managed to get something sent out for the 27th. Thanks for the recommendation!

Hopefully I'll be installing some stuff I ordered post-Christmas to make the Mini GP a little more road-friendly. In Mini's quest for Nurburgring lap times they lightened the car by deleting anything that could save weight. I have no illusions of winning any races in this thing so a few extra pounds more or less shouldn't matter; more on this in the Hot Hatches discussion thread.

Eh, probably fiddling with the cars all weekend, weather permitting. Bought a headlight kit - the Outback headlights are looking a little foggy after a couple years since last polished - a new backup camera, also for the Outback (current one suddenly went foggy or out of focus, and it's not something on the outside of the lens), new, hopefully brighter headlight bulbs for both cars, and I'm thinking of buying floods or a light bar for the Crown Vic, since the high beams on the aftermarket fancy headlights are garbage. Like totally unfocused, hot spots right in front of the car. Low beams are projectors, and fine, just could use a little more range, maybe. I don't need high beams often, but when I do, I want all the light in the world (I'm usually in rural Texas on back roads when I notice this. Where I live in the mid-cities there's rarely an unlit street, so low beam is fine.)

Gaming, probably on NYE. My gaming group in in like 4 time zones (Central, AZ, and Pacific for certain,) so will likely be multiple celebrations.

tl:dr, GM did the right thing and shut down Buick dealers who refused to get the training, etc. to sell EVs. Bought them out, it says, which I assume is a contractual thing. The funny part: Buick currently has no EVs.

Heading out with the family to Florida. We’ve never been, going to visit an aunt and uncle that moved there a couple years ago. I think they are on Amelia island, or adjacent to. Then heading to Orlando for a week, hitting the parks. Kind of a once in a lifetime chance thing with the kids ages and all. Really excited actually. This will be the longest scheduled time off I’ve ever had in my working life.

Back to gaming, I was stupid enough to keep Cyber Punk installed on the PC that my son likes to play Minecraft on. Unfortunately, he is at the age where is he is smart enough to have enough hand eye/mouse coordination to launch vidya games other than Minecraft, and one day he clicked the Cyber Punk icon. I was watching in the background (ie poo poo-posting from my phone while in the same room) and I was stupid enough to just let things play out hoping he would hate the PC vehicle controls as much as I do and abandon the game. The first hurdle was character creation where I had to explain to him what gender and genitalia are. For some stupid reason CyberPunk lets you select the size of your character's dong. I wouldn't mind this if it actually effected gameplay (bigger dong = more bravery and stronger attack or something) but everything I have read says the genitalia in Cyberpunk have absolutely no effect on gameplay. Regardless, my son got through that traumatic experience and I thought everything would be ok, but then I realized Cyber Punk has a lot of nudity and swear words and poo poo I just don't feel is appropriate for a child his age.

So I quickly redirected and encouraged him to play Skyrim. Despite both games having the same ESRB mature rating, I think a medieval fantasy setting with dragons is far more appropriate than the modern-day/futuristic setting of CyberPunk with countless women dressed like prostitutes. Thus far, my son says Skyrim is his favorite computer game, he likes it more than Cyberpunk, but he is also asking me when will he get his first machine gun in Skyrim. With that in mind, can any goons recommend a good mod to adds SMGs to Skyrim?

Good god.

I haven't worked out in a week and I feel it. I need to do something at home but I am exhausted.

My cat has decided that 6AM is now his feeding time and will not relent meowing until he gets it. And then, 60 minutes later starts meowing again because he's used to me getting up for work by then..... and that's when he gets fed, apparently regardless if he was fed 60 minutes earlier.

On top of this, a couple months ago we started the positive reinforcement thing when he had litter box issues which worked (among other things) by giving him a treat when he goes into his box, but now he yowls at us to make sure we're paying attention to him so we are watching when he takes a dump so he can get rewarded.

So wherever we are in the house (including sleeping), he makes drat sure we know about it if he needs to drop a deuce.

We have two cats (littermates). One of them is finally recovering from urinary crystals (our carpet probably won't ever recover).

My SO normally wakes up at 4am. They're used to being fed around 4:15am. Guess what happens when she's out of town... like right now? :ssh: they yell at me until I get up and feed them, even if I stayed up late and fed them at 3am before laying down, LIKE loving LAST NIGHT...

And the one that had crystals makes drat sure the entire apartment complex knows every. single. time. she pees. She's used to getting pain killers if she yells enough, but she's no longer straining - hop in, quick pee, a few shuffles of litter, hop out, tell the entire neighborhood about your success in emptying your bladder. :sigh: I get that it might still be a bit painful, but she's not trying to pee 50 times a day anymore, and the litter box no longer looks like a war zone when I scoop it twice a day (huge top entry box).

I like that CP2077 is sorta like GTA but newer, but the sexual content is too much. Admittedly, I haven't played enough to realize there was so much sexual content in the game but as soon as my son got into a city and went to an in game nudie bar I quickly put a stop to him playing. I don't think the idea of having nude bars in a game offends me since adult stores are a thing that exists in real life, but when every other building is a nude bar it's a little too much. That said, the character creation genitals disappoints me simply because it's an option that was only added for shock value. Furthermore, why can I have two dozen sliders to change every single aspect of my characters face but for genitals the only options are a normal dick, large dick, or blank spot? I guess in the future evolution weeded out small dicks and vaginas.

Humphreys posted:

Ironically, the ratings seem to be a bit meaningless sometimes. Skyrim and CP2077 have the same rating, but I would argue that Skyrim is far more acceptable for a kid. Skyrim is rated mature due to it having booze in the game and occasional blood. Blood and gore don't really bother me a lot in video games even for my son since it's fantasy creatures and the combat is not continuous. For what it's worth, I played Doom when I was younger than he was and the imp corpses turning inside out didn't traumatize me.
