This too. So many Souls fans are going to just buy it and not understand the game. They are going to think they are getting a Souls game, but it won't be that at all.

I enjoyed the game. I had some criticisms, the lack of personality in the bosses and the amount of time spent in the hub world compared to the proper levels, but I still enjoyed the game.

I forgot to mention that I found the plot resolution rather underwhelming, but I guess that's because I hadn't properly beaten the game yet.

Because you can 100% be self-aware without beating yourself up. Stranger of Paradise is a FF game where the protagonist reacts to a girl blabbing about how chaos exists within us with "Bullshit" and then plays Limp Bizkit on his way to punch Chaos on the game and yet the story is 100% serious about everything.
