I'm gonna make an almond cake in a bit and then order some quesabirria for dinner.

Ahh it turns out partner got rid of my cake pan during one of her manic cleaning phases. It'd easy enough to replace but I am a little annoyed.

Your a good partner because if my SO ever through out a kitchen tool I would be seriously rethinking where I'm going in the relationship.

We've talked a lot about it and 99% of the time she checks with me before tossing something, this one probably slipped the cracks. The kitchen and kitchen equippment has always been our main source of household item arguments since she thinks I have too much stuff and too many spices but I'm the one cooks 95% of the time and I know what I use.

I consider myself tremendously fortunate that I actually like cooking and my wife very much does not. She stays the hell out of the kitchen except to make tea.

And yes, it did stink and he refused to eat it or let anyone else eat it

I did it last year. It grossed some folks in the chat thread out, and for the work it wasn't really worth it IMO.

Hell yeah a Guga shout out. One of the YouTube cooking channels I follow.

I'm just fascinated by being able to do something that's normally a low and slow braise or smoke to 200-205°F at 135°F and medium-rare. It was like an ultra-rich steak.

I love some good food porn, I love when people post well made food content on IG or whatever that doesn’t have any stupid gimmicks like throwing food at the cutting board as hard as they can in slam cuts, just a really well made dish that looks great. Most of my really good looking food goes un-photographed because my three year old SE camera can make anything look like washed out poop from a butt :(

Maybe I’ll go steal my dad’s DSLR he bought ages ago and collects dust in his closet

We really should get a whole month off for the holidays. My kids have this week off too, grumble grumble.

In other news, Amazon has messed around with their Amazon Drive and hobbled it so much that I just decided to switch to the Microsoft 365 Family Plan because you can set up multiple accounts that have 1TB each and there are plenty of deals that give you a year for 50-70. So 6TB of storage for $64 instead of 1TB of storage for $59. Don't even know if I'll actually use Office 365.

Thanks for the shout! Always appreciated. I tend to use Google Drive for my VHS tape conversion business since it doesn’t require an account to share externally and plays content in the browser a bit smoother than the Microsoft offering.
