I hope all my favorite indie artists make a stupid amount of money this year.

The project I’m looking forward to the most is Dandy Don Simpson’s unofficial 30 year follow up to the Image Comics 1963 series, titled WHENELSE? and which he’s currently sharing for free on his Facebook page. Watching the project come together from a single pin-up to a 70 page giant that still feels as relevant and topical as ever was something magical.

Any comic book goons who live in the Los Angeles area, just a heads up, the Perky Nerd in Burbank is closing its doors at the end of feb. They won an industry award last year for best comic shop and less than a year later, they’re closing their doors. Head on over and buy some discounted comics and merch if you’re able.

I mostly associate twitter with finding out my favorite artists passing away now. RIP Brian Ewing.

The best wildcats comic was the image x issue written and drawn by Erik Larsen.

Evan Dorkin’s patreon is absolutely worth it and I encourage all comic book goons to join.

Posted this in the original art thread, but figured reposting it here as well might get a few more eyes on it, Kevin Smith's auctioning off his entire original art collection.

Even with the Long Beach comic con being a ghost town, I had to sign up for a random lottery to get a chance at a Kevin Nolan sketch (my number didn’t get called).

tl;dr - she didn't get some COVID support she applied for and suddenly ended up on the hook for $20,000 worth of back rent.

drat. Here's a link to her store if any goons want to support her and also buy some great original art/prints.

Michel Fiffe's put together a lit of comic stores who still have dollar bin back issues, I never realized what a shrinking pool that is, I used to love dollar bin diving, but I guess with the univerality of the internet it's getting harder and harder to find those diamonds in the rough now that the comic market's fallen into speculation hell once again.

When did the term “Remarque” start getting popularized in regards to sketches on comic books? I feel like I’ve only started hearing that term in recent years.

man I straight up do not understand the logic behind the Hellboy trades. There's important plot stuff in the Short Stories collections! What were they thinking?

Which shorts are you referring to because a bunch of them were collected in the Chained Coffin and Others.

Tim Odland (Eye of Odin) is auctioning original art to fund his medical bills, if you or someone you know is in the Utah area, help spread the word.

Tess Fowler (Rat Queens) is also selling a lot of original art currently on her store envy page, buy some art to help pay the bills.

Didn’t they use AI art for one of the covers?
