It's even worse than that, the CEO is lying on their forums about the cause. They're blaming "an upstream library" (ffmpeg) for the compromise.

I have some bad news for them regarding that argument...

Did you just describe the function of a thermostat? Open for the heating if it's cold, stop heating when it's warm.

Okay mister personal assistant to the CEO. How many sales have you personally made in the past 12 months. Zero? It seems you aren't generating any revenue, how about we eliminate your position?

Sticky notes get unfairly maligned in this work from home era TBH. Go ahead and make things convenient for yourself. If someone gets to the sticky note you'll probably care more about your TV than you will work's problems.

A strong password written on a safely kept note is better than a weak password you don't need to write down (because it's so simple).

that has more to do with nobody being responsible for keeping digital files over time or doing proper backups in small offices/home offices.

Or nobody understanding how to properly use (let alone configure) a digital filing system so materials are possible to find again.

The reason Word for Windows skipped version number 3, 4, 5 and went straight from 2 to 6 was to catch up to all the Word for Mac releases they had made in the meantime. And that then caused the version numbers of the rest of the programs to get bumped when it was all rebranded as part of a single Office suite with the 7.0 "Office 95" release.
