I also tried a (sanitized version of a) reasonably complex SQL query with a Common Table Expression, CROSS APPLYs and ROW_NUMBER() over (PARTITION BY .. ORDER BY CASE ... END ), and got a good explanation about what each part of the query does and the likely purpose.

I'm not saying you should blindly copy / paste all your company code and trust whatever a LLM spits out, but it can certainly be a tool. I would not dismiss it out of hand.

Some effort is worse than no effort. I think people object to how arbitrary it is. There's literally no reason to have to do that. It's another little thing I have do. throw it on the pile.

I see the date formats are different. But I don't understand what problem this is causing. What exactly is the problem that is happening? Are updates not getting through? I admit that I am dumb. So explain to me like I'm an extemely stupid person.
