A Iceland is a nice, relaxed start, once you consolidate the island. I don't care about our ruler's traits too much. I like wrathful for out starting guy though. Designing/breeding a perfect ruler can be nice, but the real meat of the trait system is how it influences your playstyle. If you usually employ a ton of assassins to make your rule secure, certain combinations of traits make this a no-go and force you to play the game differently, which is great.
