Aesop Rock released Bazooka Tooth the same year Jay-Z released The Black Album.

This sent a lot of horrible suburban kids on a trajectory to have horrible suburban rap music opinions.

Speakerboxx/The Love Below also came out that year which is cool.

Also Sonic Jihad by Paris which in retrospect is a wild rear end album name to put out in 2003.

jay-z or hov as i like to call him is actually a lyrical assassin. reasonable doubt was my favourite album in middle school. jay-z had the whole game on lock from 96-2004. there will never be another.

the same people who pick jay-z as the greatest rapper are the same people who pick the wire or sopranos as the best tv show or godfather as the best film. it’s unimaginable and too much of a safe opinion.

sopranos is easily one of the best tv shows ever though, its a safe bet because it is incredibly funny, compelling and endlessly influential. What, do youj need to cultivate some kind of hotter take to have any validity to your opinion?

kinda? obviously it's not that serious but there's a definitely a certain type of person whose opinions are based entirely on the "consesus". like i said it's not that serious but the people whose fav tv show is either the wire or sopranos often bore me.

it's not even about having a "hot" take but at least having a take with some personality.
