This was so loving good. I didn't expect this from the title match to set up the apuestas match but both guys killed themselves in this match and the crowd just built and built and built as they did progressively crazier stuff.

From Stardom Supreme Fight 4/2
HM: Giulia vs Suzu Suzuki. Can't really give this anything higher since I spent half the match thinking how I'd rather be watching Hashimoto vs MIRAI. It was just an extended sequence of big moves and spots with little rhyme or reason
MOTYC: Chihiro Hashimoto vs MIRAI. First time seeing Hashimoto and holy gently caress is she good. MIRAI was incredible in this as well, probably my favourite match of hers yet
HM: Maika and Himeka vs 7upp. Maika owns
HM: Saya Kamitani vs Momo Watanabe. Some really cool poo poo, a couple of sloppy looking spots, bascially a Saya K match. Very one-sided for an extended period leading up to the finish

MOTYC: Kazuchika Okada (C) vs. Shingo Takagi for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship - NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka 2/11
First two matches were very interesting and a lot of fun to watch. The main event was incredible: top guys wrestling in front of a white-hot Osaka crowd, time ceasing to have all meaning in the best New Japan tradition, Okada back at absolute full power once again now that crowds can make noise, Shingo reminding everybody he wasn't just champ during COVID as a placeholder but is legit one of the best wrestlers in the world.
Nth. I didn't think Shingo had a chance but they made me believe, as always. Hope he gets another big run in the near future!

Stardom Triangle Derby finals 3/4/23
HM: Himeka vs Chihiro Hashimoto. Great fun but a bit on the short side.
MOTYC: AZM (c) vs Starlight Kid for the High Speed title. Was there any doubt this was going to be great? Wasn't just the typical go-go-go high speed AZM match and in that sense had more dimensions to it and was more interesting than their last encounter.
MOTYC: Hazuki vs Saya Kamitani (c) for the Wonder of Stardom title. And yet as great as AZM and SLK were, they got overshadowed by this monster. This is likely to survive til the end of this year as my women's match of the year. If something tops it, I'll be shocked. If it wasn't for Omega vs Ospreay it would be my #1 match of the year so far
Still have yet to watch a couple of matches but the show was outstanding.

MOTYC: Shingo Takagi (C) vs. Aaron Henare for the KOPW 2023 Provisional Championship - NJPW Road to SAKURA GENESIS 4/2
This was crazy, it had no business being this good! This was a "Road to..." show and they just went loving crazy in the main event, in a match where the winner was the first to score a pinfall, a submission, and a knockout. Insane stuff, Henare's best match ever perhaps and another example of why Shingo Takagi rules. Plus the crowd was on fire all night long.

I bought the Stardom show because I have some extra money this week and the impulse control of a toddler. Plus word of mouth on this show was super positive. Sure enough Stardom stays winning.

Incredible show in front of an amazing crowd. I'd have nominated Juice/Rosser as well which was a ton of fun until ONE spot was just too loving gross and stupid and bad and took me right out of the match. The main event looked set to be a MOTYC but I can't tell if something went wrong/somebody got injured but the ending was abrupt and weird.
Nth. Nothing quite passed the threshold (Momo/Willow was closest) but a really great night of wrestling I'm glad I sprang for.

HM: Tetsuya Naito vs. Zack Sabre Jr. - NJPW G1 Climax Night 12 8/2
Solid night of action, Naito/ZSJ was the best match which was no real surprise given how well they work together. Goto and Cobb kind of caught me by surprise by how well they meshed, and Ishii and Henare was exactly what I was expecting and hoping for.
