If this end's up her as tag champ it will be the greatest storyline in the history of wrestling. Max in TJPW has been such an absolute delight DDT New Year's Current Explosion! January 7th HM Atsushi Onita and 37KAMIINA (Shunma Katsumata and Toi Kojima) vs Sanshiro Takagi, Soma Takao and Akito - Timebomb & Current Blast Bat Deathmatch - Really like guys having dedicated deathmatch attire, whenever Akito shows up in the business suit or Kojima with suspenders I know they'll be up to some poo poo. Didn't seem as truncated as Onita's last explosion match but didn't drag like some other matches he's had recently, just some good old fashioned sloppy explosion fun. Had a big lol at them paying tribute to the AEW explosion match ending as well, even if ref Matsui did get momentarily confused as to who was teaming with who

It's already hit MOYTC, but wanted to drop a link for the main event of the last DDT show (Kazusada Higuchi vs Yuji Hino) to encourage some more people to check it out. Commentary is in Japanese but the backstory is simple. Higuchi has been champion since July, winning the vacant belt after the previous champion got concussed by NOAH's Katsuhiko Nakajima in an interpromotional match. This is his first singles title after years in the tag scene and he's been waving the flag for the new generation of DDT. His opponent Yuji Hino is a mountain of a man that usually plays the heavy in stables and big tag matches, returning full time in 2021 after years away from the promotion, his only reign with the KO-D Openweight title more than a decade ago. These two fought to a time limit draw during the D-Oh (round robin tournament, basically the G1) where between the two there were 182 chops thrown, and in the preview tag matches for this match Hino has been absolutely ruining Higuchi's chest with even more chops. https://vk.com/video-4499945_456250273?t=2h30m21s

I'm of the opinion that more people should watch at least the big All Japan matches, because despite having a fairly weak undercard (the rookies excepted, they rock) the main events consistently deliver. Watch the tag title match and if you enjoyed Miyaken to Takuya as a team you might also enjoy the match three weeks earlier where Takuya challenged Kento for the Triple Crownforkboy84 posted:MOTYC

He's such a vicious little fucker when he gets to cut loose, as shown by these two absolutely brutalising each other. Nagao is a guy i'll need to keep an eye out for, this is the second absolute banger i've seen out of him this weekend, the next step is for him to work somewhere I don't have to actively seek out Masato Tanaka (c) vs Masa Kitamiya - ZERO1 World Heavyweight Championship - Tanaka continues to be an ageless wonder, 50+ with a storied career and still in such phenominal shape. His opponent Kitamura is also great, a beef tank of a man visiting from NOAH to challenge Tanaka on his home turf. DDT presents Neppa Over Flowers 2 ~ The World Unknown to Everyone ~ February 14th MOTYC MAO vs Yuki Ueno vs Shunma Katsumata vs Toi Kojima - The four present members of 37KAMIINA produced this show and each are on their second match of the night, albeit some more demanding than others. The gimmick is that the rules keep on changing. It starts as a four way match. But now it's just Shunma vs Mao. But now it's just Ueno vs Kojima. But now it's a tag match. But now it's the three of them vs Shunma. But now there's hardcore rules. But now it's an elimination match with 2-count pinfalls. Just a real fun time with 4 of the top talents in the company

DDT Friendship, Effort, Victory February 18th HM Takeshi Masada vs Toi Kojima Yuya Koroku vs Hideki Okatani Kip Sabian, Chris Brookes and Hagane Shinno vs Harimao (Kazusada Higuchi and Yuki Ishida) and Yuki Ueno The opposite of a usual DDT show, the undercard was great (with one exception) but really wasn't feeling the top half of the card. The Extreme Title match definitely had it's moments let was let down by clunky sequences which didn't play to Akiyama's strengths as a performer
