So dogs are no longer superior beings allowed to maul you if they bark first, and you can't do penance by smashing turtles with a wooden mallet. they probably wouldn't even whip you to death for killing a beaver. Most of the Yazatas have been denuded of their weird polytheistic aspects they gained over time. its tragic learning about Zoroastrianism from the pahlavi commentaries and then realizing how mundane their descendants are, no magic left in the world.
