I haven't watched many Thursday games this year and when I have the audio hasn't really been on. Usually I think Al would play to Collingworth coming in with one of his "YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME" type phrases. Just all around awful pairing.

Yeah, my guess is it's somebody or some group that places bets like this on the regular as part of some system. I don't know how often you'd have to do it for your overall winnings to make up for even an occasional loss, but people have done dumber things I guess

The implied probability of -12500 odds is 99.21%. I’m sure someone looked at that and was like, hey, easy money, but this is exactly why the payoff is always terrible on these easy money bets.

If you have that kind of money to throw around, you absolutely should have hedged and bet some way lesser amount on the Jags. But who knows, maybe he did and the 1.4mil or whatever loss makes a better headline.

That appears to be based off a $30m roster bonus in 2024 that triggers only if he plays in 4 games this upcoming season for them. They'll cut him post June 1st and "only" have like I think a combined $40m? dead cap split over the next two seasons.
