I keep seeing people saying the tweet seems suspect because Mike Rotunda/IRS isn't a WWE Hall of Famer but...after Benoit dying completely axed Vince's stupid limo explosion angle I don't think they'd dare go for a fake death angle one day after Terry Funk passed. ...just...poo poo. EDIT: also PWInsider et. al are reposting it so it's probably unfortunately real.

Akebono was probably the first sumo wrestler I knew and watched thanks to highlights from a Japanese news program on PBS (Today's Japan, I think it was called) in the 90s that was broadcast in English. Sadly he'd been in bad shape for years but even then to pass away at only 54 is rough. RIP to a trailblazer of the sport of Sumo.
