That was one of the dumbest games I've watched this season.

It still won't be the dumbest game this weekend.

Case in point: the Ravens are starting two QBs somehow

Sadly though, I think Harbaugh will save his own bacon yet again.

the Ravens nearly won a road game they had no business competing in.

you seem to take the Ravens' consistent competency and preparedness for granted, as if there's no where to go but up if they move on from Harbaugh. I promise you a new coach isn't guaranteed to prepare their team as well as Harbs always does.

one day the Ravens might be Actually Bad for an extended period and you might look back on this era a little differently

"Go low" Where? It was a wall of flesh.

you follow a blocker and if you don't make it in, oh well, at least you're not holding the ball up asking someone to grab it

the new thing is that he didn't fly to Cincinnati with the team this week. I saw a cousin of mine post that that sealed the deal for him and he wants to move on from Lamar now.

people have no idea how bad it is out there in the QB wastelands

AndrewP

you plow headfirst into that wall of flesh!

going high can work if you're like ONE INCH from the line, or maybe you're very big and tall like Josh Allen, but neither of those things were true in this case. he was still a half-yard away from the goal line and was basically offering the ball up first come first serve

Or maybe we need to put the ball not in the hands of the backup QB(who we try to call plays for exactly like Lamar) and put the hands into our short yardage specialist RB or our well-performing Ray Rice reincarnation, behind one of the league's best offensive lines and an excellent fullback. Maybe put your actual best players in the position to win the game and not a guy who is not even really meant to see the field.

Or if Huntley does a normal QB sneak they score a TD on that or maybe the next play and none of this conversation happens.

It’s so easy to blame the coaching when a player fucks up but Harbs was pretty clear that’s now how they drew it up and Huntley needs some situational awareness

QB sneaks are a super high percentage play. Taking them off the table because Huntley is a backup is dumb. At some point you have the trust the player to execute a basic play.

The coaching staff had a few times that they hosed up, it’s true.

They also could have had the loving doors blown off them by Burrow, Chase and co. They didn’t, because they’re well coached and have constructed a roster with a lot of talent. It’s so easy to pick apart decisions after a loss but it’s silly to want to burn the whole franchise down over it.

griping about a few individual playcalls after a loss and calling for the coaches heads, a tradition unlike any other

(G-Ro should go, but last night he did okay and his offense scored the same number of points as the Vaunted Joe Burrow Offense)

It kind of bothers me that people are acting like Huntley did something wildly irresponsible.

it's actually John Harbaugh's fault for deciding to interview for the job of Ravens Head Coach which lead the franchise down an inexorable path ending with Tyler Huntley fumbling at the goal line

Yah, GB has been doing the whole "just be consistently good but not get a ring" for the past 12 years and the fan base wants to riot. I'll take another ring and then 5 years of being poo poo, thank you very much.

They’ve at still consistently had a chance and gave you fun seasons where you could be invested the whole time.

The alternative is probably “going all in”, still not winning the SB and then a few seasons of actual misery
