some frogs or toads or similar amphibious creatures *may* base their maths on things other than their hands... but maths based off multiple things might make it harder to comprehend for us, or others, or just make it harder to explain... perhaps harder to explain why making things harder doesn't always mean what it seems to. maybe, maybe not tho. i wonder if true whether it would even means they base their maths on their toes and mouths, and if so whether it means they comprehend other maths systems better or worse due to it seeming a logical conclusion or seeming not like one... isn't *our* maths based on logic, tho? or is our logic based on our maths? or maybe we just think it is because both seem quite logical ways of explaining things, or figuring things out. in other news, space is a good metaphor for space.

our current math system is in base 10 because that's how many fingers we've got. the sumerians 200 years ago had a math system in base 60 which the babylonians picked up on and did some real cool poo poo: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YBC_7289 i think the babylonians are to blame for the way we count degrees in angles

Thats where 60 seconds to a minute, and 60 minutes to an hour, and the day being divided into two 12 hour segements comes from! On cool math facts, the mayans had this base 20 system that only used like 3 symbols total (., _, and 🐚) and were doing some pretty sweet maths with it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_numerals
