I don't think!

So I went through and made a new workout playlist and it's over 24 hours long. I'm realizing that there's a pretty wide range of genres that I will listen to. The thing that seems to be the same is a nice driving beat. Is it even possible to work out without music? I've tried running without music and it's pretty miserable for me.

This icp track is violent and angry as all hell so I like it for weight lifting. This one on youtube I think is the original version, I hate censorship so I was glad to find it in all its violent glory.

This song I like because of the badgass girl vibe. It's dubstep which isn't usually my favorite but it works for this song I think.

Dance music is good for cardio. This one is kind of a guilty pleasure of mine.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7T2RonyJ_Ts
This one is similar, for some reason I got into this album when it came out. In retrospect it sucks pretty bad but this one has stayed in my rotation. Another badass girl song.

I like the part where Eazy-E says "suck this d-word for daddy."

It is scientifically proven that Bloc Party's debut album "Silent Alarm" is the perfect cadence, tempo, etc. for working out. (except for the track The Blue Light because that track sucks)

This is what I do. I actually HATE music playing when I work out, so much that it kept me from going to a public gym for years and I did all of my weightlifting at home with my own equipment. Somehow wearing earplugs wasn't enough for me because it didn't matter if I could hear the music or not; just the fact that it was there at all was unacceptable.

Eventually I started forcing myself to go to a gym with earplugs, and now I'm pretty much used to it, although it still annoys me whenever I hear music playing.

Man, people who can lift without music are absolutely nuts to me. I have to have something to tune out to. Forgetting my headphones is a deal breaker. More power to you if you can do it.
