Wasn't sure where to post this, i.e. parenting thread, somewhere in the anime subforum or what, but this thread seems perhaps the most appropriate! Hope that's OK. I'm no good at art, but my 12-year-old draws a lot. She does paint and do other styles but anime/manga is her big passion. I love looking at her pictures. She did this one at the weekend:

 Haven't touched actual paint in literally years but I wanted to try this Dura-lar stuff people were talking about. It's a fun surface to work on--holds a lot of stuff well (have had good luck with pencil, ink, colored pencil, acrylic, acrylic gouache), lets you erase without wrecking the paper, and doesn't buckle when drenched in paint. This was my first attempt, following the process the Scott Fischer outlined here. It's a translucent sheet and is essentially a matte screen protector.

I've been trying to get away from only doing portraits and work on some full-body stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yM3tFwiRe3s I really like it. I wasn't aiming for a kind of Bruce Timm/Batman: The Animated Series look, but it got there somehow.
