beep by grandpa posted:I wouldn't be surprised if some of that stuff isn't legal The problem is getting it in front of a court in the first place. Every state has different rules re: arbitration, but generally speaking an arbitration decision is unreviewable by any court unless it meets specific requirements. Arbitration is loving evil and effectively ends all court remedies. Even if something in the contract is unenforceable, it will take a couple of years of arbitration to determine whether it is or not, and that decision is unique to the one case so another arbitrator can decide that it is enforceable. It's hosed.

It's hard to say Volk got robbed under the scoring system, imo. However, if there was a sixth round, he wins.

I think Alex would win a rematch. He would have won the fight on a whole fight judging metric, and he also would have won the fight if they had more rounds. Islam was getting the crap beat out of him while he had someone's back.

Getting the body triangle in the first place is a nod to Islam. Holding the body triangle for two minutes should not, though, if there is nothing done with it. When Islam stopped attacking and just sat there, he should no longer get any credit for effective grappling because he wasn't doing anything but stall. Stalling, regardless of position, should not merit points especially in the face of actual aggression and strikes from the non-stalling fighter.
