The Hmong are probably the largest Asian immigrant group around here so it's wild to learn that they're a sinister poison-using trope in wuxia stuff. I had no idea. (I've seen the usual stuff most white guys have seen like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but not much else.)

David Wong is the retired pen name of former Cracked editor and current novelist/podcast guest/TikToker Jason Pargin. It's also the name of one of the characters in (at least) his first book, John Dies at the End. I have no idea why he'd be getting referenced in this game, maybe it's just a weird coincidence.

The protagonist (who is supposedly writing the books, hence the pen name) of the series which is at four books at counting. Though he's also got a second series going these days. It's not impossible that someone making this game was a fan...but it does seem improbable.

"Can't you see that I am taking a (fully clothed) bath here?"

Also, "How can I leak in front of Yulan! The big brother has the ability to come ah!". That is, uh, quite the translation!
