Movies that you enjoyed, found meaningful, or otherwise thought had value that you never plan to watch a second time; what are they? For me, it's The Act of Killing. One of the best treatments I've seen of the Indonesian genocide/political purge, but I really, really don't ever intend to watch it again.

Toxic Mental posted:City of God? wtf kind of answer is that I don't like watching kids murder each other unless it's like in a fun way like battle Royale or uhh some anime poo poo. I saw City of God when it came out and I was like 13 or something so it affected me. Maybe like The Road or some other horribly depressing thing, but also well made.

City of God kicks rear end, watch it again and enjoy it as an adult, it'll hit different. Edit: but for a real answer, High Fidelity. I don't think I could handle that as an adult and not an aspiring hipster teenager Caesar Saladin fucked around with this message at 10:36 on Feb 10, 2023 |

Superbad. I enjoyed it very much when it came out because I was 20. I tried watching it about 4 years ago and I turned it off within 5 minutes, unwatchable and thoroughly irritating. e: I just skipped to the end to see the cock drawing montage

Ari Aster has been great at this cuz Hereditary and Midsommar are both excellent movies that fit that bill really well Though I did see Midsommar a second time and it didn't do much to quell that feeling

Poo In An Alleyway posted:Good movies I never want to see again A good list. Although Click is profoundly stupid, yet funny. I think of David Hasselhoff’s reading of “I taste poo poo.” as he smacks his lips and giggle still. Never seen Sausage Party, though. I refuse to on account of how moody teenage edgelord it appeared just because it was an animated film, but the weenie said “gently caress” and the buns have tits! Honestly, Seth Rogen was never funny to begin with.

Irreversible. Wouldn't say I enjoyed it, but it's definitely a powerful movie. Way too hosed up to watch again. El topo and Apocalypse now Good movies but gently caress animal cruelty.

Colonel Cancer posted:Any of the Saw franchise Oh yeah, this, too. Cruel torture porn when people are trying to tell me, “No, you see it’s a deep mythos movie about the Jigsaw Killer!” I don’t give a gently caress. As soon as I saw a dude in a contraption that twisted his limbs until the bones visibly snapped out of his skin, I noped out. The Final Destination films fell down that hole, too, and I stopped after the third movie, I think. Never want to watch any of them ever again.
