Funny Games I watched it in college in a film studies class. It's a well done movie for sure, and it gets its message across without beating you over the head with it. But it's too depressing to watch again. Same deal with Straw Dogs; just not the kind of thing I'll ever sit down and want to watch.

Charles Bukowski posted:Superbad. I enjoyed it very much when it came out because I was 20. I tried watching it about 4 years ago and I turned it off within 5 minutes, unwatchable and thoroughly irritating. I watched it for the first time last month and spent the entire time having extreme anxiety reliving the sort of inconsequential dumb poo poo early 00s teenagers would get extremely mad at each other for Most celebrated comedies from that era I would honestly be pretty happy to never watch again, though role models and napoleon dynamite were still p good

Dick Jones posted:Requiem for a Dream I adore Aronofsky's films, but I was subjected to Requiem for a Dream in high school in a twisted form of D.A.R.E and have absolutely no desire to ever go back to the movie as an adult (Drugs are cool, who gives a gently caress). I'll give it props for depicting a really dark downward spiral that leaves you feeling rotten inside. "Begotten" is a spooky cult-Internet favourite, and while I appreciate what it did and how it goes about doing it, it's an absolutely torturous watch.

I was going to say An Elephant Sitting Still because it's 4 hours long but that's not true. I would watch An Elephant Sitting Still again. If you ever want to watch a good movie about China, make sure that it's banned. On that note, Xiu Xiu the Sent Down Girl would be a hard second watch for most people but I like sad and have seen it three times.

Trainspotting was a fantastic film with some horrendously disturbing imagery. If I want to see anything of it I'll go to YouTube and watch Spud take the job interview while on speed or making GBS threads the bedsheets.

The Star Wars sequels. I've seen Star Wars, Empire and Jedi multiple times. The first two prequels have their moments. The sequels are the worst examples of "Well its Star Wars, don't you like it?" Those movies were put out just to push out something, anything Star Wars. E: After reading the book Flyboys by James Michener I threw the book away. I realize the importance of the subject but I never want to revisit it again. Darth Brooks fucked around with this message at 18:08 on Feb 10, 2023 |
