General information Release date: 6/5/23 (7pm eastern) Early access for deluxe/ultimate editions: 6/1/23 (7pm eastern) One more play test: 5/12 - 5/14 Classes Barbarian Druid Necromancer Rogue Sorcerer In terms of gameplay, there are a lot of changes. This is the first open world Diablo game and there are some MMO-ish elements included, like shared world events and mounts. This is also the first Diablo 4 game to (allegedly) launch with end game activities in the form of Nightmare Dungeons, Whispers of the Dead, Helltide, and Fields of hatred (PvP). According to Blizz, the monetization plans are as follows: - Buy the game (required) - There is a cash shop that they claim is cosmetic only. - There is a free and paid battle pass. If this game is poo poo then I think Blizzard ought to just pack it up. This is really their last Hail Mary after destroying Warcraft 3, killing HotS, and reducing Overwatch's sequel to a "who gives a poo poo," and this is all outside their massive internal fuckups. Game looks like it might actually be good but I'm still 50/50 on predicting if it sticks the landing.

I'm excited for this game. Not so much because I think it will be good, but because I hope it will put pressure on GGG to improve Path of Exile. I love the ARPG genre but there just hasn't been a lot of competition in the space in a long time.

I've watched a few videos about some recent updates/patches and it's pretty decent

Also glad to see the Seven Evils are back and separate. Making them all into Diablo was a bad idea so glad they changed their mind (Why have one boss when you can have seven). Plus it will be fun to fight Andariel and Duriel.

Also, Diablo IV has no internal QA test team. Everyone was fired for trying to start a union. They are using blizzard employees, and family/friends to test it.

Recommended card is a 1070, which is what I currently have, so I might actually be able to run this just fine on my 1080 display. Didn't expect that to be honest.
