I listen almost exclusively to indie stations and haven't bought or listened to an entire album for like a decade, so most of the time when I find a song I like and that I put on repeat, it's some random-rear end indie band that I've never heard of before, but That One Song drills its way into my brain and makes a permanent home there. Usually it's some combination of vibe, unique vocals, especially poetic lyrics, or a catchy melody. I think for Social Halo, it's entirely vibe. It's light and airy and a little bit strange, and even includes a weird little sound that randomly plays. I know nothing about Emmy the Great and I'm okay with that, I just love this song.
