loving lol that of all things to remake you pick Lord of the Rings, movies that caught lightning in a bottle and turned out incredible against all odds.

galagazombie posted:The 2020 version baffles me because The Stand is famous/infamous for having one of the most beloved, best, and most terrifying first halves in fiction, and one of the most hated, boring and cringe inducing second halves in fiction, And they decided to skip the entire first half of the book. Although considering how awful books 5 & 6 are, maybe it's for the best that it's never made.

The upcoming TMNT movie should just be a feature length adaptation of the superb game from last year.

Goldfinger has the iconic DB5 while View to a Kill doesn't even rate a Bond Car, so clear winner there.

Goldeneye straight up owns bones with no qualifiers needed, World is Not Enough and Die Another Day mix laughable bad and totally boring, but while I remember Tomorrow Never Dies being good I don't remember much else about it.

I'd say they should get David Warner to play a few roles, but they might find that a bit difficult. Or maybe not these days.

X-Ray Pecs posted:Variety released an article about the various crises at MCU HQ, including Jonathan Majors, the unsustainable TV/movie schedules, VFX burnout, and the upcoming underperformance of The Marvels. article posted:Case in point: the “Blade” reboot. With Mahershala Ali signed on for the eponymous role of a vampire, things looked promising for a 2023 release date. But the project has gone through at least five writers, two directors and one shutdown six weeks before production. One person familiar with the script permutations says the story at one point morphed into a narrative led by women and filled with life lessons. Blade was relegated to the fourth lead, a bizarre idea considering that the studio had two-time Oscar winner Ali on board.
