I mean, I'm clowning on them with the rest of you, but I get it. They have made booking decisions less justifiable than this. Roman's been champ for, like, two or three years at this point. He should be losing at Wrestlemania and nowhere else. Like, what would Roman be doing at Mania if this went down? You can't have a triple threat as the main event of your biggest show, so the title is out. Would Cody be working heel (as he'd have to be)? With Sami and KO there's at least a backup plan. That being said, when the audience is THIS behind someone, you say "gently caress it" and figure it out. (Also, just have Sami win the Rumble and you skip all of these problems). I mean, maybe if the crowd continues to revolt they just copy Mania 30? Man, that'd suck for Cody, though. The only consolation on this is that I was sure they'd have Sami win with the build to this, only got more sure as I saw the crowd response on Friday and tonight, and really wanted to place a bet on it except all the betting sites I found seemed pretty sketchy and weren't making it easy to make a deposit to place the bet. I get the logic since this should give them a nice match for the tag titles, and this is totally the usual WWE approach, but yeah obviously it's another in a long list of missed opportunities to have a truly wild and fun wrestling moment.

They really should have pulled the trigger on Sami there. Him and KO beating the Usos is okay, but if he won then they had a main eventer pretty much set for life.

This felt like the lamest way to end the Sami stuff and get to Cody. Like a formality they knew they had to get through. Like a bit of a 'thanks for comin kid, you're not our guy and you never will be but here's a little bit of a moment in your hometown as a reward' Call me a downer but I'm already checked out of KO and Sami vs the Usos if that's where they're going. Especially since 'you were clearly aiming for someone else but you accidentally hit me instead so now I hate you' is one of the worst ways to build to a match

You want people to watch because the champ could lose on a random PPV, or even a Raw sometime in August out of the rating season. If you know that the title won't change except at WM, why watch any other?
