Dad only played two video games with me, the original contra on NES until my mom started playing instead, and Mario golf 64 to which he remarked "This is really neat, video games have come such a long way." The games he played on his own were myst, riven, and the first three journeyman projects.

Let’s see I have some more: First time I saw my dad cry was when I deleted his 80 hour FF7 save Grandpa played NES with his two index fingers and the controller on a flat surface. He beat all of Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle that way Dad got me FF6 for Christmas and it already had a 59 hour save of his on it lol

I think my dad played some Atari games before I was born but he doesn't really play anything that I can remember except some Super Mario Bros., which he was really bad at. One time my brother got Beatles Rock Band and my dad wanted to play the drums. We picked The End and when it got to the drum solo part he missed every single note.

Not my dad, but the first time I played doom two was on a trackball at my friends house because his dad insisted it was the superior way to play pc games. He owned 3 different trackballs, one of which was very expensive and said was off limits.

My mom likes Animal Crossing and for some bizarre reason she was really into Kings Quest VIII: Mask of Eternity when that game came out. But since she hates losing she only played with god mode on. Otherwise she just plays those shovelware hidden object games all day.

Told the story before but the only times I ever saw my dad playing PC games he was playing counter strike condition zero with bots on de_dust and getting rolled because he only had the starting pistol. I said he could buy weapons at the start of the round and he jumped like I snuck up on him and mashed alt-f4 like it was porno or something.

First game I ever played at home was Zork with my dad. I was probably 4 and he was not good at it but we had a hint book and slowly muddled our way through most of Zork and Zork II. I went home and played through all three of the originals with him over a winter break around five years ago. Treasured gaming moments on both counts

was playing no more heroes at my dad's house which has a fair amount of swearing in it. my grandma was also visiting and she's very chill about that sorta thing when starting each boss stage it announces their name and they say a quote. for speed buster she just goes "gently caress you, ya little prick!" apparently this was a step too far and my dad stormed in yelling "RIGHT THAT'S ENOUGH OF THAT NOW"

My dad got so mad at me for beating him in Battletanx: Global Assault that he took the N64 to Jakarta the next time he went to work and "lost" it He kept using the motorcycle tank and I kept ramming him with the hovertank, which was cheating apparently

one of my earliest memories is playing Guerilla Warfare with my dad on the NES he got by selling matchbox cars. whenever he drove me to school on a friday it was a coin flip if i would just play hooky and he would call in sick to work and we would go to the arcade instead. young gaming parents ftw
