People probably underestimate the influence of the microcontroller, they're in bloody everything now. Cars have hundreds, your keys have them, they're in switches and washing machines, toasters and kettles, in batteries. In your modern life you probably touch something with a microcontroller in it every few minutes. Once they were just for computers, now they're in everything.
