Here’s another one that I decided not to include in the OP because it is one of the rare instances of a Homestar Runner toon not aging well. It has a bit of not-good terminology in it: gypped. You know just recently I was thinking about how Marzipan has funny character traits, but because she is reasonably intelligent and empathetic she is often sadly relegated to the straight man role. I remember one great story Matt told about being in the writer’s room for that show. He wrote a scene that ended in a song, so he storyboarded it out, then in the writer’s room he acted out the scene and used a Casio keyboard to perform the song. The other writers were kinda stunned, and he was worried he might have done something wrong, but the others explained that usually when a song was required for a scene they just wrote in [song goes here] and left it up to the music department. Of course, for Homestar Runner it was just the two of them, so they had to learn to write and play music so they could include it in H*R content! OP I'm glad you started with the 4Tst Annual Fall Float Parade because it really is perfect in every way. A literal parade of hilarious gags that show off all the characters' motives, even too well. Honestly it always surprised me that there weren't more of these types of arguably unintentional offenses buried in antique colloquialisms, in a cartoon primary made in Atlanta. Compared to a similar pioneering 2000's Georgian cartoon about layabouts and weirdos, Squidbillies, Homestar Runner is downright squeaky-clean.
