Not specific to this thread's run, but I'm curious at trying the public fork/beta since I have no idea when they'll make a 1.35 compatible version. How the heck do I get it running? Doesn't seem like Steam likes to recognize any mods installed that aren't workshop related. Wanting to explore some of the other factions I've never really tried.

For kobolds, it works VERY well. Kobold military gives +1 to attrition and a kobold population that's a large minority or bigger gives an additional +1 attrition. Since there's harpys around, a large minority also gives a +1 attrition. Along with the normal siege 1 attrition and in many instances, mild or worse winter adds more.... you can get 5+% attrition regularly. And 5% on a 20k+ stack that sits there forever is a massive hit to enemy manpower.

I went Merc due to a little foreknowledge. Halflings get plenty of sweet bonuses to make them good, the Smallfellows might be able to make them better, and concentrating on them will make them great. Besides, eating the bonus damage REALLY sucks and you'll have access to a lot of mercs.
