Brian Sutterer did a breakdown on the injury and isn't really worried about it.
Seems like a typically surgery scare/bruising. Just that it's on the hand it looks more pronounced

The UFC would've gotten a big-rear end payday just getting their cut of the Francis Ngannou/Tyson Fury superfight, but they don't care about that. They need the extra few million dollars less than they need to discourage fighters from thinking they have leverage.

The more sponsorship money you got, the less you needed the UFC.

They can just never ever give in to anything outside slightly more money. If they give in on one thing, no matter how small, it can lead to them caving on other demands once fighters ask for other things.

And UFC wants the fighters to always think it's the UFC they need not the other way around. How many times fighters come to a post fight conference saying they had $20 left in the account, had to take the fight and that $40K they won is everything to them. (With Dana later saying how great that is they got that $40K and good the UFC is for fighters). It makes them take fights they shouldn't and give into demands when they shouldn't.

While managers are suppose to work for the fighter I don't believe that (In other sports sure). Like I highly doubt Ali is going to fight for a new guy at all cause the UFC will just go after his star fighters instead.

How much do you all think this would change if Dana hypothetically were to uh, disappear?
Probably nothing at all. Maybe something small just to show they are different and get good press for a day all the while the change is surface level and means nothing.

It's a billion dollar company controlled by a larger billion dollar company. Nothing ever changes. They are all crazy heartless rich power driven people in those top decision making spots. Changing out one won't matter.

VVV Hunter Cmapbell is a solid example. You don't get to become the Cheif Business Officer by being good to people below you. Gotta be just as ruthless as Dana

Definitely don't feel good about this one, though. Jon looked better than he did in the Reyes fight so I'm glad heavyweight agrees with his mobility, but boy, Gane looked like absolute poo poo.

This is where I'm going to be an angry fan and disagree with that. I don't think we saw much if anything from me to really say that.

Clearly he could get a take down and sub a guy that isn't good on the ground.

But we don't know if his cardio holds up, does he still have a chin, can he handle pressure.
I just feel like i have questions even after that easy masterfull performance.

The constant "Well, he never fought a X type of fighter" is where I'm at right now. Needs to fight a true wrestler. (Which I know is a stupid to hold highly but I'm in a bad mood now)

VVV I mean at heavyweight

GSP unified the belts in the rematch against Matt Serra, I guess that kinda counts

In similarish way. Lawler over Hendricks.
He lost for the vacant against him and then beat him in the rematch

vvv I think you misunderstood. It's who won the belt back from who defeated them for it.

I will never give dana white my money. its not like if ppvs got more buys they'd up the minimum pay from 12k/12k.

Far as any reporting I've seen with the ESPN+ deal UFC gets paid the same amount for a PPV regardless how many buys it does. It's just garuentee money they knew they would get every PPV moving forward.

I think it came out a few weeks ago that when the ESPN+ deal comes up they intend to shop it around because they believe they are leaving extra money on the table they should be getting when the PPV does sell well

It's sort of why the 'the fighter is a draw' isn't that important anymore. They are still getting the same money for 100K buys vs 500K buys, far as the reporting goes that I've seen or heard of.

(What any of those numbers are only they know).

ONE Friday Fights 11 - 2022-03-31
Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand

Airs starting at 8:30 AM ET on ONE's Youtube channel

Week 11 of the ONE Lumpinee series features the first “rematch of a previous main event.” And rightfully so, as the first battle between Superball and Kongklai was in the top 5 best fights in the series to-date.

You can see that fight here, and I rewatched it in anticipation of today’s show.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIu39nHxP0o&t=12754 (Timestamp 3:32:34)

Round one was fairly close, but Superball had a few more consequential blows as well as a better performance at clinch range. Superball knocked Kongklai down with a head kick early in round 2, though Kongklai protested that the momentum of Superball’s leg knocked him over rather than damage from the kick itself. Kongklai then almost immediately knocked Superball down with a right hook. Kongklai ended up landing a few more damaging strikes in the remainder of the round, which was one of the most exciting rounds of the year in any sport. In round 3 saw Superball crashing into the clinch repeatedly as both fighters were exhausted, but it didn’t look like Superball landed that many solid strikes compared to the number of punches and elbows Kongklai squeezed in. To my uniformed eyes, I would have scored it 2-1 for Kongklai. The judges, however, gave the unanimous decision to Superball. Still, it was a tremendous, legendary ONE Lumpinee fight, and both fighters earned the post-fight bonus, leading to tonight’s main event rematch.
