My big reservation re: the Vikings is do you think Jefferson can produce yet another 1800 yard, 8 TD season? If he can't, that offense regresses. Losing even a few points per game puts the Vikings at like 8-9 this year instead of 13-4.

This would be such a huge loving haul that I hope it doesn't happen.

https://www.sportsmockery.com/chicago-bears/weve-learned-the-chicago-bears-asking-price-for-the-1-pick/

quote:

What we haven’t known is what Poles might be looking for in terms of compensation. Much of that depends on how far the Bears drop. If it’s within the top five with Houston or Indianapolis, they’re likely looking at multiple Day 2 selections and maybe a future 1st. However, the Bears GM might be aiming higher. Robert Mays of The Athletic appeared on Hoge & Jahns to discuss Chicago’s situation. It was here he revealed a relevant bit of information that could have massive ramifications if true.

“Little birdies? The price that I heard from outside the top five is your one this year, a two this year, a 1st in 2024, and a 1st in 2025.”

I kind of get the feeling Gutekunst is gonna double-dip or even triple-dip at tight end next month. He's done it at a few other positions in previous drafts, and this year's tight end class is not only exceptionally deep but also exceptionally varied. The Packers have literally no one at the position (unless you count Josiah Deguara, but I won't blame you for forgetting he existed) on the current roster.

I can't see Rodgers going for much less than 2 firsts, especially after Carr signed with the Saints leaving the Jets with only one other options (spending multiple firsts to move up in the draft for yet another unproven young QB). You're not just trading for a great QB, you're trading for a very real shot at a Super Bowl championship. The Jets have the roster and the coaching for it.

I don't think Russ is a good comparison, the Broncos roster isn't really ready to compete like this Jets team is. He wasn't even their first choice, they panicked and grabbed him after missing out on Rodgers last season.

The Packers can't possibly make Lamar's contract work with their current cap situation, and, no, the cap is very loving real and messing with it means you're stuck in an infinite purgatory spiral of extending mediocre players while praying for an overrated miracle coach to save you.

Lovely.

Just do a bunch of one-year contracts while you wait for next year's free agents.

This year's class doesn't seem that great outside DE and TE (and Bijan Robinson). Fortunately the Packers need both positions!

His arm delivery looks so similar to Rodgers and the passes are obviously smooth and accurate, but he looks stiff setting up for the throw and he doesn't do the little hop like Rodgers does (not that he should, but Rodgers does it to help prevent leg injuries). Wonder how he'll perform in live action, if that little pause before he throws will still persist.

Lamar is a pretty big gamble but if there's one coaching staff I'd trust to best maximize his talents it's Campbell's.

I don't think they'll be a playoff team but I don't think they'll be a disaster. 6-11 to 9-8 probably. Use this year to stock up on lots of young players and take our salary cap medicine.
