That would be great. Right now the bears feel a little bit like the pre - Khalil Mack year where there was hope for the offense, presumably solid defense, but no way to pressure the QB.

Now that's a drat good answer. Way back in the day I used to drive through that area on the way to galena/Iowa. I think Lena had one of the first 85% ethanol fuel pumps around, starting in the late 90s?

The old adage was 1/2 last year's wins +4. (everyone goes towards 8-8). The extra game screws that up, so add a half win and round up I guess

Vikings from 13 to 11
Lions from 9 to 9
Packers from 8 to 9
Bears from 3 to 6.

Seems about right. Vikes and lions probably tie at 10 wins atop the division

I think it's legit great that people are moving to Peoria. But that doesn't mean you can't make fun of it. Think of all these towns as the equivalent of the Detroit Lions - you wish them the very best but know deep in your heart that they're never going to get anywhere. And that's ok.

Frankly, I just really like the big bridge in GB. It isn't scary like the Mackinac one

Watch one of the McCaskeys buy a house and say well we're going to tear it down and rebuild, so really you shouldn't use our purchase price for the tax assessment.
Heck, they could have just waited to buy until right after the reassessment cycle in Arlington Heights and not had this be an issue for several years!

I think George McCaskey does believe he deserves money from the cities/counties/state for providing such an excellent product, and that he finds it abhorrent to think he'd make slightly less money if he had to pay a few percent interest in loan interest over paying for something out of pocket like Jerry Jones

Sell the team. Hell, sell minority limited partnership roles and fund everything with that Steinbrenner style.

Edit after looking up how Steinbrenner afforded the Yankees, turns out he leveraged capital calls against the other limited partners to dilute their equity when they wouldn't pony up. Lol at the idea of the McCaskeys having that happen to them since their cash flow sucks

I hate the McCaskeys so much, because I think the Bears were the singular most valuable sports franchise in the USA over the last 3-4 decades. The NFL took over the sports landscape, they had no competing team locally, and did absolutely zilch with it. Just incredible myopia the entire time.

And it wasn't like they were making the team popular through their own management. The only noteworthy thing they did in that era is announce a coaching hire before it was agreed to

The real question is whether Campbell can keep on pushing the young players on the roster to improve and grow, which is what takes them from a .500 team to a playoff contender.
