Well, it was a pretty fun race. Nobody was really there and Sato went out way too early, but it was good to watch at least.

Kirkwood actually looks like a good driver again? In this economy?

Hey this 100 Days to Indy is halfway decent (at least, so far into the first episode). Usually think of outside media just showing a bunch of crashes and saying things like "it's dangerous but these guys are death-defying evil kenevels" then showing another crash montage

Fairly insane that BOTH of the Foyt cars are in the top twelve (?!?!??!?!) and the best outcome tomorrow for all three of RLL's fulltime cars is a last row lockout for a team that won in 2020 and was a contender in '21 until the wheels literally fell off.

Did anybody even spin in qualis? What happened to the days of trimming out almost all the downforce and using just the breath of baby Jesus to get you through your qualification laps?

Sato and McLaughlin at various times very nearly hit the wall where the safer barrier fades into concrete. There's a clip of Scotty on youtube but I only saw the one of Takuma on the video boards

Canapino actually did smack it, and then somehow managed to keep it from spinning. Dude is gonna be great once he learns the car more.

santino is, tragically, pretty good at indy

The only positive I can think of about it is, you know, AJ himself has had a rough year and hopefully that outcome puts some cheer back in him. Wish it were literally anyone else in the 14 car though.

Conor out at ECR. Kind of surprised they are still referring to the #20 as "Bitnile" since Daly brought that sponsorship and I'd figure that his removal would have to do with that money drying up more than anything.

With pictures like this, I wonder if the logos on the suit are cgi or if they already have one made up in RHR's size and with his logo on it already for him to wear. Interesting regardless. Jake Query (one of the IMS radio network announcers) said on his local morning show this AM that Lundqvist is testing that car this weeking at Sebring and he isn't sure if this announcement means Hunter-Reay will be in the car for the rest of the season or if we will see Linus in it at all.

Was a fun race to watch in person. Got to see the Garage 56 Le Mans car on display too. Also an extremely drunk guy fell down the stairs of the pedestrian bridge over Hullman blvd on his way to the Nascar event tonight, 10/10 no notes.

Well they finally got practice in after it raining most of the day, and Newgarden dominated, Sato came in third after not being in a car for a month, and Will Power was doing Will Power things:

Oh also Graham Rahal's car is broken or something, because why should RLL have any good luck ever?

Honda's solution? Stop building engines, just faux badge them and have a somewhat customized software for the engines.

Crate engines, crate hybrids, it's one way of cutting costs I suppose.

Honda built a new 2.4 liter engine for indycar and IMSA, and then Indycar didn't adopt the new formula so it's just in the IMSA cars. The reason they didn't adopt it was that Illmor couldn't seem to finish the new engine on a timeline. I think Honda is extremely pissed off here, if they're now suggesting illmor should just build everything.

Didn't think the main memory I'd be taking away from this race was seeing a mannequin in assless chaps fall on the edge of the track, but, this has been one hell of a week in indycar.
