I don't know. All I know is I see parents asking where to get glasses, and other parents replying "NOT TRUE! The sun isn't any more dangerous to look at than any other day!" Knowing the political demographics of Long Island, I think these people saw Trump looking at the 2017 eclipse and now have it in their heads that a partial eclipse is safe to stare at and the scientists warning against it are part of a conspiracy.

That's the effect we got too. I expected it to be a little bit darker at our 90% coverage, but it was still amazing.
