This is cool, but I can't listen to them on spotify because I just finished spending 2 months digging my algorithm out of a 70s-style rock hole because I liked a single Ashbury song. Going through the algorithmic playlists every week to find new music is pure torture, but here is some cool stuff it threw at me.

Some Norway black metal guy with a good singing voice.

Some Finnish pop music. I tried finding other good Finnish music but gave up.

Another black metal guy (Sweedish?) doing chill folk music.

This entire album by Billy Woods was great.

Oh hey the guy who keep writing creepy songs about how he is a sex addict actually turned out to be a sexual predator in real life. Weird.

That is cool as poo poo.

Is there any genre name for all those bands that sound like half black metal/half explosions in the sky? Because I hear a shitload of those bands and they all suck an incredible amount of rear end.

edit: I had this song come on my discover weekly the other week and I actually almost died in real life when the banjo solo started at 3:20.

It was so awful I was googling around about it and actually found a super rad bluegrass/black metal Panopticon album about coal miner union struggles in Kentucky.

My algo finally got good and started feeding me some cool sounding euro post-punk sounding stuff.

Some Polish band from the 80's that sounds like Doom music.

Some more German stuff.

Some more Finnish folky stuff.

I got to catch Dougie Poole live this weekend and it was a great show, would recommend if you like weird spacey country.

Discovering Yvette Young and Covet, adding that album to the permanent rotation.

This is not Covet

Track 1 is "Can I Borrow A Feeling", which activated my neurons immidiately upon intro, but after the initial riff, it is ok... the concept is better than execution. But musical shitposts are important.

Covet is great and I've been listening to them nonstop all this summer. Standards has a really similar vibe if you are into that.

I had this album on repeat during the polar vortex we got a couple years ago when the heat at work couldn't even get close to keeping up and didn't feel a thing.

Does anyone use Youtube music? Spotify's algorithm tosses me so much garbage I was thinking about trying it out since I have premium anyway.

Anyway, here's a song that's been stuck in my head since I played Quarantine on the 3DO when I was a kid.
