1999 was such a great year for movies! Scanning the movies released that year reveals one classic film after another. It featured the final work by one of cinema's greatest masters in Eyes Wide Shut, whilst showcasing the emerging talents in films such as The Sixth Sense, Being John Malkovich and Magnolia. Of course, the film also played host to films that would become cultural touchstones for years to come including Fight Club, The Matrix and The Blair Witch Project, the latter two of whom would influence countless movies for years to come. What was your favourite movie from 1999?

By volume maybe Kathy Bates in About Schmidt so that's 2002 is the best year. Really comes down to the definition of "most" boobs.

i knew a dude who one time just went off on how much he loved Magnolia. i have to this day still never seen it and just don't care to. i have nothing against it, it just doesn't seem to interest me for whatever reason i don't know. anyway, this guy just talked forever about how much he loved the movie and then like a loving hour more about how he's watched the movie and read the script so many times that he typed it out from memory in word, just so he could understand the movie better and how he wanted to feel closer to it. he wasn't even a scriptwriter or anything, i honestly think he just wanted to gently caress Magonlia.

Actually 1933 is the best movie year because in 1934 everything basically fell apart. Go watch something like Baby Face or Duck Soup and tell me pre-code movies aren't as good or better than anything we have now.
