it's not fair to punish national for the poor economy over these past the years, since they were so hobbled by the decisions of the previous government and by their own coalition partners. they need another term to get new zealand back on track

You'd expect this poll result tbh. They're ramming through all their unpopular poo poo now, then next two years are just going to be claiming credit for the reversion to the mean on crime stats, school attendance, inflation etc etc while ignoring the ongoing slide in quality of life created by underfunding and underinvestment.

Reversion to the mean or, failing that, counting crime stats in a different way that excludes certain categories. Or just not counting/recording them.

Sort of wonder if capital gains or another wealth tax will be the deciding factor in the next election. If Labour do it, the scaremongering will be easy. If they don't, then they wouldn't have the budget to implement any significant change. Also they will hopefully shed votes to the left.

If you aired every argument that a politician in Wellington has ever had you'd run out of ink. quote:Woolf alleged an incident in 2019 where he was photographing an event, in a personal business capacity, outside Parliament. Genter was attending as associate transport minister. Just a few months earlier Lets Get Wellington Moving had been launched, sparking heated debate about cycleways and mass rapid transit. i.e. she came up to him, a politician, and had an argument about politics and he didn't like that someone might challenge his psycho beliefs that cars should be given all the public space in our cities

The sort of person who gets called a "robust critic of the council" by people who are too polite to call out her unhinged behaviour. Even worse, the car parks and cycle lane she's complaining about weren't even outside her shop, despite what all the media outlets have repeatedly reported. They were across the (four lane) road. There is still parking and a loading zone out the back of her shop on Adelaide Road, but the street outside her shop has always been dashed yellow lines and that hasn't changed. I can't imagine what JAG thought she was going to achieve going into her shop to talk about cycle lanes tbqh. Rookie electorate MP mistake which she'll hopefully take to heart if she survives the dogpile. Stay the gently caress away from the cookers and psychos in your electorate.

Progressive JPEG posted:the cooker flower shop has had a bicycle in the window display for years I think you'll find that's a non-functional bicycle, its just about mandatory that florists have some sort of rustic (rusting) bicycle as part of a display. Consider it more of a head on a pike than a promotional thing. I can only assume that JAG was initially ignorant of her views, or knew of them but thought that they could have a reasonable discussion about it.

Like most Greenie / leftist true believers JAG is right, knows she's right and probably believes in something like the the innate goodness of humanity leading to the position that people that are wrong about climate issues are mostly so due to simply not understanding the situation. JAG is getting a rough education in what we forums dwellers have always known, most people are scum and can't be reasoned with.

I saw someone defending JAG on twitter say she didn't go in to the florist shop to talk about bike lanes. But apparently popped in to get some flowers for someone she was visiting in hospital. The florist lady started berating her about the bike lanes and she argued back and then pulled out her phone.
