I tear up in movies all the time. I'm a very internally emotional person. Weird things do it a lot though. Mostly huge battle scenes. Like Two Towers when the Rohirrim arrive at the end, the Klendathu drop in Starship Troopers. It's really strange. But I get goosebumps and super emotional and I can tear up by the absolute insanity and courage of those fights. Essentially this. But especially the part around 3:20 when Gandalf says "Theoden King stands alone." And then Eomer comes up behind and says "Not alone..... ROHIRRIM!!!!!!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-z0acXSJ0o And the Starship Troopers Klendathu drop is just so intense. The music, the fear, the terror, the uncertainty.... it's just bonkers. Too much for me to take. At the 3 minute mark when they start to touch down is when I lose it normally. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Rx8_vjbXX4 quick edit: also sad movies make me sad and I'll easily cry. I'm a super emotional bitch. Pennywise the Frown fucked around with this message at 02:33 on Mar 13, 2023 |

In Before Midnight, when they start the Steadicam "walking" shot that defined the style of the first two films in the series. Obviously it was GOING to happen, but I had been absorbed in the film and it managed to catch me off guard, and once I realized what was happening it got me pretty good. And then how the interaction between the two characters transforms over the remainder of the film...I was straight up sobbing by the end of it. 10/10.

true story: so I was high AF watching dumb and dumber at a friend's place and how depressing their apartment in that movie is made me feel super duper depressed for a couple scenes after. seriously its filthy, there's barely any furnature and what little there is is barely holding together and of course filthy and the shelves are filled with worthless junk, wallpaper coming off the walls. for a comedy movie its pretty bleak but also "main character that lives in poverty and squalor" is totally a thing in comedies from the era

I can't remember the details but there was a part of Your Name where the two characters finally met in a dream or something and they tried to exchange information but all that came through was half of one character's name scribbled in marker on their hand, it was a pretty powerful scene Also episode 8 of Centaurworld

In the last thread like this, I said Anton Ego’s review at the end of Ratatouille because I’ve always loved the line, “Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere.” It is a simple message both kids and adults can understand, and Peter O’Toole did such a sweet and genuine reading of it
