I have worked on a lot of different car makes. Maybe I just never noticed the others having a lot of single use bolts (other than head gasket stretch bolts), but I think it safer to assume you cannot reuse anything VAG since working on my Audi.

Paid $22 for a e20 torx socket the other day to get a 1 nut off my Suburban's front seats. I know I have one somewhere as the seats have been out before (even have the gearwrench ratcheting wrenches for the other bolts) but damned if I can find it.
