Eastern Mind: The Lost Souls of Tong-Nou for Windows 3.1/early Mac is a bizarre point and click adventure game based around dying and reincarnating as different creatures in a strange afterlife-like world set literally inside the game designer's giant floating green head. it's currently a pain in the butt to play on modern systems but scummvm is adding support for it very soon, which should make it a lot easier. so keep an eye out for that. LSD: Dream Emulator on PS1 is by the same studio and is based on a dream diary one of the developers kept for over a decade. it's a very early, objectiveless walking sim where you roam surrealistic landscapes and bump into things to visit other surrealistic landscapes, with more variants, weird things and occasional dangers popping up with every dream. already mentioned but worth mentioning and less weirdo multimedia artwank than the games i've mentioned so far: WORLD OF HORROR on pc (and soon switch) is a low-res black and white point and click roguelike where you solve mysteries in a small japanese town being consumed by the unknown horrors spawned by the gradual awakening of a dark god. if you like that old japanese pc game aesthetic, junji ito or being chased around a coastal town by creatures from beyond the veil, definitely check it out.

oh god i just remembered the most mysterious of jogos Knights of the Crystallion on amiga is a simulation of a tribal society living inside the hollowed out bones of a long-extinct colossal sea monster, and you drat better have a manual handy to know what exactly you're supposed to be doing within this utterly alien culture  a friend wrote a great article trying to summarize it but it's just kind of a weird artifact from a planet not entirely like ours...
