I got lucky and did a walk up pre-order in December 2020 and got it first week of Jan. They stopped doing walk up orders right after I got mine, presumably because it was too easy to get a PS5 that way versus pressing F5 for 20 hours a day.

They're really showing heaps of this game. I like that approach but I also feel like this is a lot more than other titles. Seems like absolute faith in the product. I'm so pumped for it.

I am absolutely here for the Japanese game of thrones melodrama. Everything I've heard about the first few hours sounds really good. Can't wait to play the demo whenever that happens.

I switched from graphics to frame rate after the first bunch of cutscenes. Very noticeable difference in image quality and it seemed to make animations look really weird at times. The frame rate also judders a lot in performance and makes me wonder if just sucking it up and playing 30fps with nicer image quality is the way to go. Not sure if the animation thing is real or imagined since I'd only done a little walking before switching.

It seems to go super hard on blur with no way to turn it off, making me think 30 is just the way to go. Maybe put it on performance for a second run to get high scores when the game is patched up idk.

The entire game is handmade and beautiful versus the way games are made now with open world everything, reused assets and poo poo menus. It's really refreshing.

Using R1 to dodge is going to take some getting used to, but I always use the recommended config because I believe that devs do this for a reason and I have faith in Suzuki having configured the game's controls for reasons that will reveal themselves.

I prefer quality despite the blur. Performance feels like it's constantly hitching and uneven. Turning off blur on graphics mode will be perfect, it's very steady.

I only got annoyed by one thing last night. I made a weapon at the blacksmith and upgraded it, but making the weapon cost me the material I needed to upgrade a second time. Then I found the base weapon at the shop that I could have bought and upgraded fully. So I guess I need to check both before I make choices.

Also what's the deal with getting a boss weapon that's outclassed by other junk you can just make in the blacksmith? Do weapons have some secret number I'm not noticing or just what's on the pane when you buy?
