I POSTED WHAT NOW!?
I know nothing about Yamada-kun but will say it needs sirens because it’s got Morio Asaka directing it and he’s done Chihayafuru, My Love Story, NANA, and of course Cardcaptor Sakura.

He’s amazing at directing adaptations and I’ll be checking it out for that reason alone.

Definite watches:
Oshi no Ko
Witch from Mercury
Birdie Wing
Skip and Loafer
Yamada lvl 999

Adaptions of things I like but might not stick with:
Dead Mount Death Play
Yuri is My Job

Interested depending on initial reception:
Magical Destroyers
Heavenly Delusion

Adaptations I could watch if I want even more on my plate:
Explosions
Insomnia
Otaku Elf

Pretty stacked season.

i thought it was a C+ anime elevated to a solid B by the visuals and audio

was fun watching it. don't have particularly strong opinions after the fact. will check out the new season at some point probably

Dr. Stone manga hit its peak with the Stone War arc and then was fine, though the final arc feels pretty abbreviated. The anime seemed like a perfectly competent adaptation but idk if that continued past S1.

More or less convenient than one guy knowing the entirety of human science

does the convenience remove any sense of tension or sidestep the need for clever planning

i tried three episodes of dr stone and the super strong guy looking at the camp and immediately figuring out the protags were headed to hakone to find gunpowder and faked leaving was a level of convenient writing that felt ridiculous even then.

the concept is cool - a kid knowing the entirety of science is a fun power for a shounen where the core conflict is about competing visions on how to build the world - i just didn't think the writing was there to carry it. if it gets worse from the beginning that feels like it confirms my suspicions, although it wouldn't surprise me if some of the later arcs find their stride.

I think the first 3 episodes of dr stone are the weakest of s1 for what it's worth

It was funny when the instant the manga got more interesting side characters, the ones Senku started with just literally hosed off for an entire like two arcs.

You could tell that they were the Shonen Horse to get the story greenlit.

Some people do think it was set up just in case people didn't really like Senku and preferred Taiju for whatever reason.

Hyped for the second half of Mercury Witch.

I really enjoyed the Tengoku Daimakyou manga when I read it some years back, it should work well as an anime if the adaptation's competent.

Quite a stacked season for comedies, I've got close to ten other shows I at least want to check out.

Trying to decide if Kamikatsu is the kind of silly dumb that can be carried by its voice cast or just dumb. Judging by the first couple chapters I'm leaning towards the latter.

Yeah Mashle is heavily inspired by the work of ONE and the first season at least should be DOPE. There's a period in the later chapters that's a real lull in the comedy but the anime won't get anywhere near touching that.

This looks like a strong season to me! I'll be watching:
Birdie Wing S2
Gundam Witch
Demon Slayer
Konosuba
Ancient Magus Bride
Mashle
Ranking of Kings

A lot of stuff on the docket for me!
